Gaginang’s Looking for New Faces!!!

Interested in being a part of history?  Want to help Gaginang grow into an even better organization? Or perhaps you need leadership experience… or you are just a natural leader looking to make use of your skills.  Or maybe Gaginang’s changed your life and you want to give back.  Either way, WE WANT YOU!!!

Please send an email answering the following questions to contactus@gaginang.org if you are interested in joining staff:

  1. Where are you located and how would you strive to create more GGN awareness in your local community?
  2. Do you have any past leadership experience?  If so, please describe your role(s).
  3. What type of position do you see yourself serving on staff?  What skills/talents/interests do you have that you can see as being beneficial to that role? For example, chatting with/meeting new people (public relations), surfing the web (to be up to date with culture and language outside of Gaginang and the US), crunching/balancing numbers (Treasury), traveling (Public Relations), taking pictures (Historian), and the list goes on.
  4. Ideally, where do you see the future of Gaginang?  List at least 2 goals you’d like to accomplish as an officer to Gaginang.

Gaginang staff term is March – February of the following year.  All positions are open for the taking.  We ask those questions to find a best fit position for everyone. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • IT Director
  • Web Developer
  • Development Director
  • Public Relations
  • Regional Events Coordinator(s)
  • Web Content Coordinator
  • Grants Coordinator

Gaginang is an all-volunteer effort. We're passionate people who have decided to make a difference in Gaginang's mission of promoting Teochew culture, language, and identity. We're a committed bunch; we work together as a team and are proud of what we do. That's what makes Gaginang work! Here's what you can expect when you volunteer with Gaginang:

  • Flexible volunteer work schedule (2-5 hours a week)
  • Working with passionate people interested in everything Teochew

  • And much more!

Remember, ask not what Gaginang can do for you, but what you can do for Gaginang :)
