GAGINANG PENG'IM INPUT METHODS
Gaginang Peng'im uses the following Latin characters:

•    ABCEGHIJKLMNOPSTUY
•    abceghijklmnopstuy

These are easily available to any Latin-character keyboard. In addition, there are five tone marks which occur on vowels and the consonant m (read about TONES below), totaling an additional 26 characters. They are:

•    Tone 2 (grave) - àèìòù
•    Tone 3 (breve) - ăĕĭŏŭ
•    Tone 5/8 (macron) - āēīōū
•    Tone 6 (acute) - áéíóú, ḿ
•    Tone 7 (dot) - ạẹịọụ

There are many ways to input these extra 26 characters. I've included two of them below. I highly recommend the first, though the second is more applicable in various applications.

METHOD ONE - abcTaipu for Firefox

For use with the Firefox browser, abcTajpu allows you to set a keyboard macro when using Firefox.

1. Add abcTajpu (which is an add-on) to your Firefox
2. Open up the abcTajpu help webpage for reference.
3. In your Firefox navigation, go to Tools, then abcTajpu, then Options.
4. A dialogue box will open up. In the user defined macros area, input the following shortcuts:

5. Below the dialog box is a radio button selection area for a general hot key. Choose any one you like, though I suggest F1 for it's proximity to the other keys.
6. To type the extras 26 characters, and even entire words, you just type combinations followed by the general hot key. They're essentially shortcuts. For example:

The beauty of abcTaipu is its flexibility. The macros I have included utilize two styles of input: the numerical tone marks as well as keys which resemble diacritic marks. You can modify the macro, or create your own entirely new shortcut. Additionally, there are other modes in abcTaipu that you can experiment with. The limit of this input method is of course that it is limited to typing in Firefox.

METHOD TWO - JLG Extended Keyboard Layout for Windows

For use with Windows XP or Vista. This keyboard layout is installed into Windows' language settings, and can accompany or replace the US keyboard. The input style uses keys which resemble diacritic marks.
